Cake Smash sessions are a great way to celebrate this important milestone in your baby’s life, from baby to toddler.

When you book a Cake Smash and Splash session with photography by Fiona we ask if you have a theme in mind or any particular colours you would like us to use, this is because we create bespoke set ups for each smash session we do, personalised to each baby in some way. This can be based around a few colours or a whole theme. Do you have a cute elephant themed nursery, does your baby love the zoo or have a favourite story book?

For example this Teddy Bears Cake smash session we recently did for Teddie. We spent a whole afternoon painting this backdrop and loved the outcome.

Or this Panda themed set created by us for Freddie whose mummy wanted a vegetarian and baby friendly (as healthy as possible with little sugar) cake.

We work with a lovely professional cake maker called Laura Neale who deigns each cake based on our theme requirements and they taste amazing!! If baby doesn’t finish their cake we always make sure mum and dad get a slice if they want one.

Let’s be honest…. Baby is not always keen on their first taste of cake (I know, I know I would be diving straight in too) and this is completely ok. All is not lost if baby is not as interested in the cake as we would think as we always get a gallery full of lovely images and in our experience baby either will love the bath set up designed to clean them off after, if they don’t the cake.

Some parents like to book their smash in advance so they can use the images on birthday invitations and we also think the images look great enlarged on a kitchen wall or even bathroom wall for the splash photographs (ask us about waterproof panels!).
